We are also forecast for a huge storm this weekend, with the forecasters telling us to expect power outages and high winds. We have enough of everything to be safe,including plenty of wine.
But these photos do remind me of the old maritime rhyme: Red sky at morning, sailors take warning. We've been warned. And dire weather or not, we certainly need whatever rain this gully-washer will bring us.
Because sometimes I like to punish myself, but more because I so enjoy reading your blog, I have Paso Robles on my Weather Channel app locations. I've been reading about this storm and hoping it dumps and dumps the rain! I saw this week that many cities in CA are declaring this the worst drought in 500 years. Shocking and scary for the rest of the country, as we lean so heavily on CA for produce. It's interesting how systems like this affect us too. Early next week we'll warm up to 50s and have tons of rain. I can't lie, I'm a little jealous of the storm! I love seeing them. Hoping you stay safe and warm with a good buzz while a dent is made in the drought! cheers! And lovely photographs.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, I've heard the same about the historic nature of this drought as well. Just our luck to move here when that's going on. But since every little drop helps, hopefully we'll get a bunch of rain, which will at least help keep the native trees and brush going. Oh, and when it's 112 here in the summer, you won't be punishing yourself by looking at us on the Weather Channel app, you'll be looking at it to remind yourself how lucky you are to live in a state that remains green and lovely in summer!
