Holidaze

We're smack dab in the middle of holidays, but thankfully we're in the home stretch.  Hanukkah was wonderful as usual with music, song and latkes, and now it's Christmas Eve and we're happily here at home, waiting for tomorrow when we'll have some Prime Rib and all the usual sides you have with a traditional English Christmas dinner.

This is my favorite time of year, and I hope you and those around you are enjoying the season.

On the 26th, there will be chicken coops to clean, seeds to plant, orchards to fertilize and vines to prune, but for right now sitting in the glow of the pretty lights with family is perfect. Hope you are doing the same.

Happy Holidays, everyone!

  2. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! I so wish I celebrated both! Your English dinners always sound so good. Those look like big presents under your lovely tree! Hopefully one was for you!

  3. It was! We bought a FlexBrew for the house, with eco-friendly permanent filters for both, but now we can have single serving cups of coffee/tea or brew an entire pot. Love it! Still getting the Sous Vide as well, but didn't want to buy it yet, waiting for January.

    1. Oh I'm interested in this. Off to research. I want a keurig but am not impressed by their construction. For whatever reason, coffee is not something I can make!

    2. Keurigs are now rigged to only accept Keurig KCups, so if you ever want to use the recyclable plastic ones you will be limited in your options. That's why we liked the FlexBrew. One day soon I am sure someone will come up with a paper Kcup, and if it's not Keurig I still want to be able to buy it and use it. I hate when a company tries to corner the market on stuff by making their machines accept only their brand.

  4. Do you celebrate both holidays? My husband is Jewish so we celebrate both as well. Certainly solves the dilemma of whose family to visit on Christmas.

    1. We celebrate both too, Molly! I grew up celebrating both, and now the tradition continues with my Jewish traditions and my Catholic husband. I always joke that I celebrate ALL gift-giving holidays lol.
