Baby Jays

Last year we decided to allow a bush beneath our bathroom window to grow a little taller, and the result is that a couple of Blue Jays built a nest there and we now have a window on their young ones' little world.  There are five of these guys and they are just too cute. You have to look close to see them, they are well camouflaged but definitely there!

  1. What a fun view to have! They are so cute! It's been fun lately in the salon because there are geese and ducks nesting right outside the window. The windows are reflective from the outside so they don't sense they're being watched so it's an easy way to watch them.

    1. It is fun; there is something relaxing and fun about seeing them going about their business without disturbing them, you are right. They are used to seeing me opening and closing the window and realize its not a threat.

  2. How nice to have them right outside your window. Many years ago we had a bird make a nest outside our window. It was such a joy to watch.

We get nests in our hanging baskets too. They're up too high to see the babies, but we can hear them chirping. It's sort of like a musical hanging basket.

    1. I have some friends who have a hanging basket on their porch that a pair of doves uses every year for their young. It's pretty great to see them returning year after year there. Baby birds are just so cute.
